The mission of the Pegasus Education Foundation is to enhance and enrich teaching and learning in the Paulsboro Public School District and to help prepare and inspire the academic pursuits of all of our students from preschool through high school.

The Pegasus Education Foundation is excited to partner with the Paulsboro Public School District to begin an ambitious STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics) Academy for students in Pre-K through 12th grade, beginning in the 2019-2020 school year.

In the future, the Foundation would like to provide resources for classroom enrichment, including mini grants, professional development fees, and classroom supplies.

We are also focused on improving College and Career Readiness by providing resources to aid students in the transition from secondary school to higher education and vocational training. This would include additional assistance with the college application process, SAT preparation, and enhanced curriculum offerings to assist students as they   transition from high school to college and careers.

The Pegasus Education Foundation is the brainchild of Superintendent of Schools Dr. Laurie Bandlow.  Her dream was to create an organization that engages the community at-large and alumni of the Paulsboro Public Schools for the purpose of supporting teaching and learning.  A group of people under Dr. Bandlow’s leadership learned about education foundations and how this type of organization can benefit the 1,200 students currently attending the Paulsboro Public Schools.

On Tuesday, April 25, 2017, the Pegasus Education Foundation officially became a corporation with not for profit status.  The foundation is separate from the school district but exists for the sole purpose of providing resources to the students and their teachers.

The first task of the newly formed Pegasus Education Foundation was to build a database of alumni and other individuals and companies that share its goals. This included leading the creation of the Paulsboro High School Alumni Association.  At the same time, the trustees worked to create a social media presence so that as many people as possible learn about the Pegasus Education Foundation. The trustees will also create activities and other opportunities for people to participate in and donate to the Foundation.  The signature event for the Foundation is the annual Hall of Distinguished Alumni induction ceremony.
